See You Next Year

This will be our last post for what was a very good quilting year for us.  Goodbye 2010 and don't fret, next year will seem like it's only a day away.

Green Bag

This has not been a good year for me for cameras.  Earlier in the year the camera that my sisters bought me stopped working and it couldn't be repaired.  So my hubby bought me a lovely purple Fuji camera.  Yesterday I lost it.  Needless to say I was upset about this.  So my dear hubby went out today and bought me another purple Fuji.  Husbands are the greatest, get the picture?  So, now I'm back in the picture taking business.

My free Green (as in environmentally safe) Bag arrived today form Nashville, Tennessee.
I would like to thank the Green Bag Lady for sending this to me. I also agree that we should stop using paper or plastic bags for shopping.  Using fabric is a better way to go because it's reusable. You can use your favorite fabrics and be a happier shopper.  You can find out more about this from Teresa at
Here's my new bag using my new camera.  Look how much groceries it holds!

Last Get Together For 2010 - Part 2

Hinda was busy sewing her jeans quilt and Renee B is making a bumper pad to match the quilt she just made.

I showed some new fabric that I recently purchased.

While Avigail is now dealing with all the snow on her trip to New York, Susan has just returned from sunny Florida.
Susan, thank you so much!  We all enjoyed little gifts that Susan brought along for us.

We all put our names in a bowl and Renee S called out the names.  Everyone received a little something.
This is Sara
This is Rina
This is Naomi
This is Shifra
This is Renee S
This is Shoshana L on the left.
This is Shoshana R
This is Hinda on the right.
Renee B received something too, but I didn't get a picture.  Sorry Renee!
I received a lovely beginners quilt book which will go into our library for everyone to use.
Susan you are really special to do this.  We all thank you sooooooo much.

Last Get Together For 2010 - Part 1

It was a busy group today.  First we would all like to thank Stephanie from Texas for the fabric she has donated to us.  We plan to make quilts to give to charity, here in Israel.  Everyone enjoyed looking at the fabric which is in the basket and we talked about the type of quilts we should make.  Not everyone was here today but this thank you comes from all of us.
Thank You Stephanie!

Sara just made this darling pillow for her dear friend Ellen.  Just look at these fabrics.
There are needles and threads, sewing machines, thimbles and more.  This is fabric any one that sews or quilts would love.  Great job, Sara.

Naomi stopped by with her new baby for a visit.  She also made these pictures out of layers of wood for us to see.  Her new baby is just too cute.

Shoshana L has made her Baby Block quilt as large as she wants.  Today she worked on making stencils for the edges.

Rina worked on 2 quilts.  The first was her batik quilts.  She had to decide on the arrangement.  As you can see it takes lots of decision making

Rina decided on the pattern for the second quilt.  It's called Cotton Candy and it's from the latest Quilt magazine for Dec-Jan 2011.
These are the fabrics she will be using.

Renee S also found a pattern in the same magazine yesterday that she liked.  So she went home last night and came in this morning with the bag almost finished.

Renee S's Pillows, Bags, Table Topper, And Wall Hanging

Renee S has made so many things. I don't have pictures of everything.  She is a very active mother of 9 and a grandmother of many.  She volunteers at the Jerusalem zoo every week.  I don't know how she finds the time.  We could all use some of her energy.

Everyone keeps asking Renee to make bags for them.  These are the latest for her friends.

It's time to see some of the wonderful quilts that Renee S has made.  Some are (BB) before blogging.  She does a wonderful job with all her projects.
