Susan's Latest

Susan has been working on so many things.  You might like to take a look at her blog to see the latest and hear what she says about her quilts.
These will be a little basket quilt when Susan is finished.  They are all left over scraps and just so cute.

New Fabric

Anytime I buy new fabric it's a happy day.  Here are a few little goodies that I came home with.  I found these at Budrutz.  These are from the Storybook series by Windham.  I'll add them to some others that I already purchased.
I found these in 2 stores on Strauss and Yafo streets in Jerusalem.

Denim Comfort Quilt

I just finished the top of a recycled jeans comfort quilt.  Hopefully it will be sent to Orr Shalom Re'ut Home for Boys.  I've been speaking to Hadassah from "The 2 Spies".
She has worked diligently on making and gathering quilts for these boys.  This is a group home for boys at risk in Jerusalem.  I made the top and Hadassah will take care of putting it together.  There is a volunteer to quilt it.  If you wish to donate a quilt you can reach  Hadassah, at the link above,  or click on:
for further information to volunteer or to donate funds.
I ragged a few blocks in the center and was planning on ragging all the edges instead of putting on a binding.

Stolen Quilts

What's the worst thing that can happen to a quilter?  That their precious quilts are stolen.  Please read and possibly help Karen recovery her stolen quilts.  These quilts are fantastic and we hope that they will be recovered soon

What To Do With Leftovers?

Susan knows what to do.  She is hand quilting this darling little quilt.  All leftovers! That's what I like to see.  Nothing is wasted and so very cute.

Liebester Blog Award

I was selected by Jill at Cre8fmom Quilts, so now it is my turn to nominate 5 blogs that I love.
The criteria is that the blog must have less than 200 followers.

Susan at Scrapy Happy and I found each other over the internet, and now I am happy to call her a great quilting friend and a member of the Quilting Corner

Roxanne from Portions and Possibilities has helped my quilting group become a sister blog to her quilting group called Twilight Stitchers 92.  We have a joint quilt project at this time.

Ali from Monkey Hands introduced me to the Far East with her travels. Also new techniques which only make me want to do more.

Stephanie from My Imperfect Life has become a wonderful source of encouragement, generosity, and friendship. A fun, fun blog.

Hadassah from The 2 Spies inspires me with information about Israel.  I plan to welcome her into my home next week to meet several members of the Quilting Corner.

Another Yellow Brick Road Quilt

Sara has started another Yellow Brick Road quilt.  Once again her color selection is quite different.  These are lovely fabrics and I'm sure the quilt will be terrific.

Here we have started to sandwich Sara's quilt.  It's now ready for Susan to do her magic quilting.  I'm looking forward to seeing how it is finished.

A New Jeans Quilt

After I finished the last jeans quilt, I realized that I still have lots of denim; so, I started another quilt.  I decided to make four patches from scraps that were left over from larger squares previously cut.  All of the squares are 4 1/2".  Here is my progress so far.

I decided to rag the center square.  I plan to rag the edges of the quilt instead of using binding.  I'll see if more squares should be ragged as I go along.

Donation

A very big thank you goes to the "Postpartum Quilter" for her generous donation of fabric.  It just arrived from America and we are so grateful for the beautiful fabric.  The fabric will be used for our comfort quilts. You can find Elisa Black's blog at http://postpartumquilter.blogspot.com/ Her blog is a delight to follow.

A thank you goes to our very own Renee for a donation of fabric starch.  This is great to use after washing your fabric.  It gives the fabric a freshness that it losses after washing.

Headbands By Shoshana R

Shoshana has been making darling headbands.  She has picked up lots of special trimmings to enhance what would be a really dull headband.  Shoshana has a real talent for what works and what doesn't.

New Fabric

I have a few new fabrics from Budrutz.  I bought pink flannel for a comfort quilt backing.  Of course a couple of new fabrics that I didn't see before.  I just couldn't come home without them.
