Chaya Is Making More Jewelry

Chaya sure has been busy, but not with quilts.  Since she started this jewelry class she has been going like gang busters.  Here is some of what she has made.  She's been getting so many requests from people to sell her work,  so she has just started to do it.  Nice work.  Everything is lovely, Chaya.

Flowers

Naomi hasn't been able to join us since she had her last baby, but it doesn't mean she isn't still creative.  She stopped by the other day to show me these lovely little flowers that she has been making.  They could go on headbands, blouses, handbags and anything else you can imagine.   We look forward to when she will be able to join us again on a regular basis.

A Gift From My Friend Rachel

Rachel just came back to Israel from America.  She wanted to surprise me with something.  Not being a quilter herself, she bought me a quilt book which was an excellent choice.  This book has wonderful patterns for friendship quilts.  This is ideal for our quilting group and I will share the ideas.  Thanks so much Rachel.

Birthday Party

Yesterday, Renee's Mom was 99 years old.  We gathered together, quilters and non quilters, to help her celebrate this wonderful occasion.  Here are just a few pictures.  First Renee, and then Renee's Mom and some of the wonderful ladies that live in Betar Illit.
May we all be together next year for #100.

Sara's Pink Quilt

Sara has finished her latest "Yellow Brick Road" quilt, which is all pink.  It's been sandwiched and it's on the way to Susan for machine quilting.  These ladies have been busy bees these past few months making fantastic quilts.

Blue String Quilt

I'm happy to say this quilt top is finished and it's in the mail.  It is on it's way to Ra'nanna where is will be quilted and finished for the Benji project.  The plan is for it to go to any Israeli soldier.

Paducah Quilt Show Flash Mob

I enjoyed this video very much.  I want all of you to see it also.  These quilters march to a different DRUMMER.  Notice their marching PATTERN.  Some of the drummers appear to be LONG ARM drummers.

Renee's New Baby Quilt

Renee has just finished another baby quilt.  This panel was so cute it hardly makes sense not to use it when you have to make a quick gift.  They are making panels cuter all the time.  It can be completed in a few short hours.

 This is the flannel back.

Sara's New Scarf

Sara has been making such wonderful scarfs to be given as gifts to her friends and family.  This is different for Sara and she is really enjoying it.  Sara usually just makes quilty things.  In the past Sara was an excellent seamstress but has given it up for quilting. The yarn for this scarf is light and airy which makes it great for warmer weather.  With such beautiful yarn you can't go wrong.

Bryna loves to do hand quilting and uses thick poly batting.  It's hard work but it's worth it.  These are pictures that were taken while she was working on it.  The first 3 pictures are of the back.

Hooray!  Now it's finished. Such a fantastic quilt.  This will be hard to give away.
And this is the back.

Bracha's New Kit

Bracha bought this kit in America.  It came with a panel and the fabric for the boarders to be added on.  It's really adorable.  Sorry the picture isn't the best.  Bracha is planning on adding real Ric Rac around the dresses with embroidery to enhance the panel.

Susan's Machine Quilting

This week Susan brought a quilt for us to see at our Monday morning get together.  It was a pattern we hadn't seen before.  It's important for us to get a closer look at her machine quilting which teaches us what can be done on our own home sewing machines.  Seeing this wonderful quilt prompted us to ask questions and learn.  Meanwhile, we can enjoy Susan's beautiful work.

Comfort Quilt

We've been away for a few days.  Some computer problems again.  My hubby to the rescue.  We are now up and running again.
When I was in America I bought this adorable panel.  I was able to make this quick and easy comfort quilt in no time.  Just a little hand quilting was needed.

Since it's all flannel and going to a little boy, I used this fabric for the back.

Sara's Hexie

Sara is working on her last block that she will put into her Underground Railroad quilt.  It's in the process and should be finished by our next meeting.  This fabric has added a great deal to this quilt.

New String Quilt

I'm making a mostly all blue String quilt for an Israeli soldier.  These are fun to do but make a real mess.  It gets a little boring so I have to stop every once in awhile and do something else.  Then I can come back to it again.  This makes it slow going, but it will get done.  This is what I have so far.
These are the next blocks ready to be put together.  It will be a large quilt.  Each square is 6 1/2".  Then I put them together in groups of 4.  As you can see it will be 4 groups across and 5 or 6 groups down.

Susan's Inspiration

Susan has really been working on so many things lately.  All of a sudden she had some inspiration and here it is.  She just loves using up those leftovers.
Susan brought this new quilt top for us to see after it was sewn together .  It's really cute.

Renee Is Improving

This is a picture of Renee when she was in the hospital.  Here she is receiving some gifts from friends.  I'm happy to say that she is now home and improving daily.  Renee would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes.
Renee goes to the Kotel (Wailing Wall) every Friday morning (erev Shabbos).  She is unable to go now so this picture was made by her friend Chemla of the Kotel.  If she can't go to the Kotel, the Kotel will come to her.  Of course she received a fun Whoppy cushion too.
