Etty's Wall Hangings and Pillows

I wanted to show just a few wall hangings and pillows that I've made.  The first one is very timely.  I made it back in 1984 for the Redstone Arsenal Officer's Club in Alabama.  It was to be hung there every year at Chanukah.
Since we are speaking of Chanukah I'd like you to see what my dear friend Peggy made for me also in the 1980's.  I hang it in my home every year. It was made with regular bias tape which was very clever.
I made this for my sister Sandy many years ago.  At the time everyone was making little quilts and leaving them in their hoops.  This was an easy way to display our work.  The pattern used here is called "Dove in the Window."
These are pillows that I made when I was learning to quilt.  When learning it's best to start out with small projects.
This is a more recent pillow that I made for my sister Geri.  It looks like I paper pieced it, but I didn't know how to at the time.  I added 1/4" seem around each piece to make this.  Now I know better.

Happy Chanukah

End Of November Get-Together

This was a very busy day today for our group.  Many things were accomplished.

Shifra finished her very special wall hanging and brought it for show and tell.  I tried to get some close ups so you can see the detail.  It's very special.

Rina and Sara were busy sandwiching two of Rina's quilts.  Also, Rina brought new fabric and made a decision on the pattern to be used.

Renee S brought in a new baby quilt and was quilting it during our Bible study.  Usually, the ladies are doing some hand sewing during this time.

Shosana L is a new quilter.  She is hand piecing the Baby Tumbling block pattern and it's coming along very nicely.  She is taking to quilting like a fish takes to water.

Susan made a new tote bag and brought it for show and tell.  She was kind enough to teach a new method for the Flying Geese. It's very clever and there is no fabric wasted.
