When To Give Up?

Recently, I received a quilt that I made for a grandson.  It was returned for repairs.  The question is, when is it worth the trouble to repair a child's quilt or just make a new one.  I did decide to make a new one.  I used the same pattern but all new fabrics.  I started to make repairs but saw the batting was so bad and the fabrics so faded that I had to make this decision.

  1. I'm so glad to see you're posting again!
And I'm also happy you've decided to make a new quilt instead of salvaging the old one. It would have been a shame to invest so much effort when the fabrics were really worn out.

  2. I've missed reading what is going on in your neck of the (quilting) woods Etty. Glad you're back. This was obviously a well loved quilt. I had a similar experience with a quilt I made for my granddaughter. After many years it came back tattered and worn. I made her a new one (same pattern) but she refuses to throw out the old one.
