It's 24"x44" or 60cm x 117cm.

A New Comfort Quilt

I've started the second comfort quilt in a series of three for one family.  The pattern chosen is from the Moda Bake Shop called Aunt Polly's Porch.
This pattern allows me to use up all those small pieces.  Each little square is 2 1/2 inches.

Sara's Scarf

Sara is still knitting.  She will be making a trip in a few weeks and will be giving scarves to some of her friends.  This is a new yarn and a different color for Sara.  It's really lovely, as all the scarves have been.  I hope she'll get back to quilting soon because they are wonderful too.

This is the back.  This back turned out better than the last one I made.

New Comfort Quilt

I started a simple flannel baby quilt for a one year old.  All bright and pretty fabrics.  I just put it together and will do some plain machine quilting on this.  I have to finish this quickly.

New Comfort Quilt

This little baby comfort quilt is finished.  It's only 36" by 36" so it will be saved for a little baby.  I used my scrap flannels on this.  I don't like to waste anything.
This is the back,  It looks a little strange but I don't like to waste fabric.  So this is how the scraps turned out.

The Knitting Goes On

Shoshana R, has been a busy lady making scarves for family and friends.

Renee's friend Miriam came to visit and brought her little baby hats with her.  I put it on my Cabbage Patch doll (Kalvin) to check for size.  She also showed how it was put together.

A big thank you to Sara for making this lovely scarf for me in white and silver.  I'll wear it for special occasions and of course, take it off when I eat.  I don't want to get this dirty.

Kaleidoscope Day

Sara, Renee, Miriam (From Haifa) and I spent a day making a Kaleidoscope Quilt.  Sara made one and wanted to make another, so we joined her this time.  Under her careful instructions we accomplished a great deal.  We used the Ricky Tims video which Sara purchased and used his method.  Here we see helpful husbands again.  My husband and Sara's husband set up the video for us to watch after we already did most of our quilt.  Better late than never.  A big thank you to them for their assistance.

Sara trimmed her her first quilt and put on the binding.  It turned out so lovely.
This quilt is put together with individual wedges.  Here we can see on Sara's first quilt how it comes together.
Work, work, work..

This is the progress on my quilt.
Now it really gets hard.  I have to continue this and make it square and then sew it together.

Shopping In Jerusalem

Sara and I had the opportunity to go shopping in Jerusalem last week before we had our snow storm.  What a lovely day we had.  First we went to the Bernina store for yarn.  .
Their most expensive sewing machine was in the front window.and this darling little sample, which shows what it can do.
They had a wonderful selection of yarn and we took time to look at all their machines while we were there.

Next we went to the City Cellar to look at more yarn and to see a variety of things including quilting supplies.  This is a lovely little store off of King George.

Next we went into this cute little shop on King George.  Sara and I both found something to buy.
After all that shopping it was time for lunch at the Rimon. This is a fabulous dairy restaurant. I was so full, you could have rolled me all the way to the bus. Our next destination was home.  Two tired quilters with a belly full of carbs.

Big News! It's Snowing

This country is so amazing.  We are having the biggest snow fall since 1992 and everyone is having a great time.  No schools open, no buses running and everyone is taking pictures.  So I joined in.

These are pictures when it started to get heavier from my front window.  It doesn't look like much but the average is 10CM which was lots to play with.

I'm going to receive some pictures of my grandchildren in the snow, but I'll post them another time.  This is a great break from all the election furry.  The news only talks about the snow.  What a relief.
