Rina's Tablecloth

Well, Rina's tablecloth won't stay flat on the table.  What's a quilter to do?  The ladies had many suggestions.  Including,  just make it into a bed quilt.  If she does, Rina will have to start all over again with new fabrics.  We will just have to wait and see what she decides.

  1. The likely culprit is those stretchy bias edges. Sometimes they just want to float and won't lie flat.

You could try lining it and "quilting" without batting. That might help it lie flat on the table.

Good luck. I hope you find a happy solution.

  2. I tend to agree with the last commenter. Bias edges can be brutal. No easy answer for it when it's all assembled. Next time maybe use removable stabilizer on each block. Then when the blocks are assembled remove the stabilizer. Or when completing each block carefully use stay-stitching on the edges just like when you are assembling a garment.
