Recycled Comfort Quilt

I was inspired to make a quilt that I saw in the Quilters Newsletter Magazine. June/July 2014 issue.
It's an old quilt with no pattern so I'm making my own version.  This will be another comfort quilt for a young man.  As of now I plan to make the back out of old jeans.
This is a sample of what I have so far.

Once again I'm recycling old men's shirts that no one wanted.

Special Blocks

Recently 3 Israeli teens were murdered in Israel.  Two women in Bet Shamesh put out a request for blocks to go into 3 unique quilts.  These women will put the quilts together.  They will be given to each of the families that lost their son.  Sara and I are proud to be part of this project.
Sara's square is on the left, mine is on the right.  I hope to receive pictures of all 3 quilts when they are completed.

New Comfort Quilt

I've been working on a new Comfort quilt.  Using only Jean scraps and old plaid shirts.  Wow!  I really like the way it is turning out.  It should be finished soon.

Birds

I found this cartoon to be very appropriate for what I'm dealing with.  My new apartment has a balcony with lots and lots of birds that seem to frequent it.  I think I moved into their home and I hope they will allow me to stay.

A Trip To Pissott

Recently, Sara and I made a trip to Pissott.  Sara was picking up her quilt that was quilted on a long arm machine.  It's so very beautiful and special.

While we were there we took advantage and shopped, looked around and admired the beautiful quilts on display.  These were taken in the classroom that they have set up just for learning to make quilts just like these.  You should certainly check this out.

Thank You

A big thank you to Bryna.  She has acquired these fabrics to be added to our stash for Comfort Quilts.  They will go a long way for many quilts.  The bottom blue plaid is already in our next quilt that we are working on.  Thanks to Bryna and all those that have donated fabric.
