A Trip To Budrutz

 HOORAY !!

Budrutz in Jerusalem, has received new fabric from  America.  They received so much that I just don't know where they will put it all.  You might want to check it out, if you are in the area.  I took a picture while I was there, but certainly not all the fabric is shown.

Everyday Blessings

We should remember this everyday.

New Donation

A big thank you goes to Bryna this week.  She came across someone that was giving up Quilting.  Can you imagine that?  Is it possible?  Well, I guess it is.  So we now have added to our library, new books and magazines.
Also, some additional fabrics for our comfort quilts.
Bryna also brought back two goodies for me from the USA.
A favorite tea that is hard to find here in Israel and a beautiful new quilting template.  Quilting friends are the best.

The Ladies Are Busy

It's been a busy week for me and the ladies.  Sorry, I haven't had much time to post.  I've been away.  Now for the news.
Renee brought in her new tablecloth.  Wow!! This is really something to see.  She started with a different design and made a wrong cut.  Well, that didn't stop her.  Renee just made a different design and it's fantastic.  She also brought her grandson along and he watched as her grandmother was quilting.
Rina is also making a tablecloth.  This was the design that Renee started out to do.  Here Rina is laying out the blocks.
Chaya was working on her jewelry which all the ladies enjoy seeing.
Susan was busy hand quilting.  She always brings something along to work on.
Sara was cutting her shashing strips for her Underground Railroad Quilt.
As always, Sara brings along her Grandmother's Flower Garden to work on.
Sara has some fantastic fabric with trains.  She was discussing with the ladies the pattern she was interested in doing and how to incorporate some other solids with it.  She can't go wrong with this fun fabric.

That's all for this week.  After all, it's summertime and not enough time to blog.  See you next week.

Dinner With Hubby

Hubby and I went out to dinner in Jerusalem.  It was a delight.  My hubby had a normal meal.
And I had a Waffle, which turned out to be dessert.
This was so pretty I didn't want to mess it up, but I did, and it was delicious.  This would be great for all chocolate lovers. I'm sure we will go back to this restaurant again.

Sara's Pincushion

Sara is going to visit a friend this week, so she whipped up this cute little pincushion in a flash.  Now everyone can use a pincushion, so it's a great idea.  I didn't get to ask her, but I think this must have been a paper pieced project.  You can tell the size by the 1 inch chart below.

Chaya's Jewelry

We enjoyed seeing Chaya make some of her fantastic beaded jewelry.  You have to have good eyesight for this hobby.  Not to mention patience.

Susan's Show & Tell

I'm so happy Susan likes to bring some of her quilts to our weekly sewing group.  I always enjoy seeing what she has made up close.  Pictures to me, never seem to show how beautiful these quilts are.

Yarn

We've received another donation.  This time from Penina who lives in Betar Illit.  She gave us this bag of yarn.  I'm not sure if we will make any blankets from it but it will be good for when we tie our quilts.  I have to see if any ladies would be interested in making little stuffed animals or toys with it.  Thanks so much Penina for thinking of us.

Hubby's Quilt

I finally finished my hubby's quilt top.  Now on to getting backing together, sandwiching it and then comes the quilting.  I'm not sure how I want to do that, but I finally have made progress on this quilt.

Birthday Pillow

My oldest grandchild has turned 14 years old.  Gifts are always a problem especially when they are teenagers.  Money is always welcomed but I wanted to do more.  Last year I made her a quilt so this year it's a pillow.
I really like this fabric.  Lots of fun things on it.  Handbags, jewelry, cell phones, shoes, sunglasses and more.
Since she shares a room with her little sister I thought I better make a matching one for her.

New Fabric

I forgot to mention that all guests at our retreat received a little surprise.  I like to collect little remnants of fabric when I visit Pissott.  Each quilter was able to pick out one that she liked and take it home.  Everyone should get a gift when they are on a retreat.
This fabric is fantastic.  I bought it from Pissott.
This baby fabric was from the Quilt Center.
And these 2 panels were from Sew Adorable Fabrics.

Quilt Retreat Day 2

We had another fun day and accomplished a lot.   The ladies worked all day on their projects and only stopped long enough for us to go out to lunch.
Avigail finished her pillow.  It turned out really great and she is so happy with it.

Rina finished machine quilting her latest quilt.  This is only the second quilt that she did free motion quilting and it turned out terrific.  She was so excited about it.  Great job Rina.
Sara trimmed her quilt and now will put on the binding to finish it.

Sara also continued her paper pieced Rose.
I also accomplished what I wanted.  My hubby's quilt top is almost finished except for any borders that I may add.  I still haven't decided about that yet.
We all had so much fun just sewing away.  It was hard to stop our little retreat.  I'm sure we will do it again someday.
