Husbands That Help

Some husbands don't want to have anything to do with their wife's quilting and then there are those rare special husbands.  My husband is one of them and now I see that Shifra also has a helpful husband.  Shifra had trouble on the floor sandwiching the quilt she made for her husband.  Well, her hubby came to the rescue and got down on the floor too.  They said "there has to be an easier way".

Since we make comfort quilts for sick children, Bud Rutz saves us little pieces that they can't use.  But, we can, so a big thank you to them for helping us.

They have a wonderful selection of flannels now.  It's hard to choose.  I will try to get more pictures for you when I return next week.

A Gift From My Sister

When my sister Sandy sent me fabric this little goodie was included.  I wasn't sure what it was used for.  Boy did I have a great surprise in store for me.

They are from Fons & Porter. You can use them to hold your binding in place while you sew.

But each little clip has a measurement on it.  It's meant for you to put one on your strips so you will know how wide the strip is after you've cut it.  So very clever.

Rina's Star Quilt

Rina did a fantastic job quilting this.  You are terrific Rina.  I can't wait to see the next creation.

Renee's New Baby Quilts

Renee has been busy as usual.  She just completed these 2 baby quilts.

The Knitting Goes On

These were the scarves being worked on in front of Susan and Sara while we were learning at our shiur.

 The ladies still have the knitting bug.  Renee has just finished this beauty.

Renee had a special surprise for Faigie.  She was so happy to receive a scarf from Renee.  Faigie doesn't see well and is unable to sew.  Renee took it upon herself to do this act of kindness. We should all do at least one act of kindness each day.

Shifra's Quilt

Last month I posted a picture of Shifra's latest quilt.

She now has finished a special backing and it's very unique.  It's ready to be sandwiched together and quilted.  It's very original and modern.  Here is a close up.

 

 

 

Good Reading

Sara has received some new issues of some of our favorite magazines.  We all love seeing the latest Quilt magazines and look forward to their arrival.  Sara also received the latest Fons & Porter.  I just didn't get to take a picture of the front cover.

I'm enjoying this wonderful book about sisters given to me by my sister.  If you have a sister you will just love it.

Hinda's Quilts

Hinda just finished this flannel baby quilt.

And  has this larger flannel quilt ready to quilt.

Naomi's Latest

Naomi likes to paint and do decoupage.  She just finished this lovely little piece.

Naomi came by to show me some felt puzzles that she has been making for her children.  They are very cleaver and her kids have been having so much fun with them.  You can see her youngest hiding behind her skirt.  By the way, Naomi made this top that she is wearing.  She loves to sew.

Her son brought down the latest which was almost finished.

A Gift For My Sister

Well, the Carpenters Wheel is finished.  It's a little late but my sister Sandy is very understanding.  It will be in the mail this week.  I hope she likes it.

Busy Day

Today was busy and fun.  Renee brought her finished quilt and we went outside to try to get a complete picture of it.  We definitely have to improve on our picture taking.

 

Renee showed some of her scarves that she recently made and she has already started another.

 

Sara also has the knitting bug and has started a red and black scarf.

Susan is hand quilting her latest little quilt.

Rina is still making little flowers.

Shoshana has made some Dreidels out of magazine pages which are really cute.

 

And while I'm working on my latest project, I've been doing Bonnie Hunter's "Leaders & Enders".  I'ts very exciting to know that I am making 2 quilts at the same time.  These little 2 and 4 patches add up quickly.

Renee's Latest Quilt

Renee has finished another wonderful quilt.  This one was so large, we had to fold it over in order to get a picture.  I'm sure you'll agree, it is a great quilt.  Renee used the fabric she received at our last giveaway and made the Bricks pattern.

Sara's Latest Quilt

If I could name this quilt, I would name it Licorice candy. That's what I think of when I look at it.  Sara has just finished the quilting which is not her favorite part of the project.  What a fantastic job she has done.

 

  

 

This is the proof of her success.  The grand kids just couldn't wait to get underneath and cuddle.
