Rina's Black And White

Rina has been working so hard on quilts this year.   I can hardly keep up with her.  Here is her fantastic black and white quilt that she bought as a kit from Keepsake Quilting.   The kit was just the fabric and instructions.  Rina had to do all the cutting but it was worth it.
Here Rina is taking a peak at her handwork.
Sara is helping Rina sandwich her quilt on my table.  This is a great way for me to see what's going on.
This is Rina's original idea for the backing.  This makes it a reversible quilt.  Such a great idea Rina.

Bryna's Latest Quilt

Bryna has been working on her Irish Chain quilt for sometime now.   She hand quilts it so it does take a bit longer.  Here it is before the quilting.

And here is Bryna just finishing the binding.
Now it's off to here grandson to enjoy.   Beautiful, beautiful quilt Bryna!

Sara's Rainbow Bag

Sara makes the cutest things.  Sara made this for herself.  Sara keeps it in a large tote bag that she likes to carry.  It keeps all her important items together and helps her find what she needs in a hurry.  What a cheerful bag to have.  It would brighten up anyones day.

Thank You Sara

When I came home from my recent hospital stay I was unable to eat anything.  Everything tasted so bad and made me sick.  Well, what does the best quilting friend do in a situation like that?  Sara made me these 2 beautiful place mats (one for me and one for my hubby), in order to make eating a more pleasant experience.  I can't thank her enough.  Well that problem no longer exists but I can continue to enjoy my gift of love.  Thank you Sara!

It's Time For A Giveaway

WOW, it's hard to believe, but we have just had our 4th anniversary of the start of our blog.  So, it's time for a giveaway.  We have been blessed with a large quilt book and quilt magazine library and I think it's time to share.  I'm running out of room on the bookshelf.  We've pulled a few books and I'm hoping someone out there would enjoy them.  We'll pick a winner next week.  Same rules as before.  Just drop me an e-mail if you are interested in the giveaway.

WiFi

This is how I've been feeling for the past 2 months.  I've been away from everybody.  I'm happy to say I am getting better everyday and I'm now back in the sewing room.  I really felt that I was out of it and so far away.  ALL ALONE!  I've missed all my sewing friends and favorite bloggers.

I Did Give Up

I recently did post a picture of the new replacement quilt.  Here it is with the borders on.  I did try something different and I liked it.  My grandson is enjoying the quilt and has already forgotten about the old one.  Now there are fish instead of cars in each square.

When To Give Up?

Recently, I received a quilt that I made for a grandson.  It was returned for repairs.  The question is, when is it worth the trouble to repair a child's quilt or just make a new one.  I did decide to make a new one.  I used the same pattern but all new fabrics.  I started to make repairs but saw the batting was so bad and the fabrics so faded that I had to make this decision.

I've Been Away

On September 8th I went into the hospital for a rather serious operation.  I was there for 16days.  I'm home now and getting better everyday but it is slow.  The slow recovery is hard for me.  Our blog has suffered but I hope it will once again become more exciting over the next few weeks.  The ladies have not been able to get together on our regular Monday mornings but some have been busy.  I hope to post some pictures soon.

Some Of The Ladies,

We don't always have the same ladies each Monday when we meet in my home.  This is the group that recently came to my home.  I snapped a few pictures of the ladies before we started any sewing, so the room still looks a little neat. We all enjoy learning and love each others' company.  I think you can see this by all the smiles.

Quilts For My Grandsons

I recently finished a quilt for two of my grandsons.  My little granddaughter Esther Rifka is helping me take a picture of them.  These pictures were taken before the borders were put on, but they are finished and delivered now.
