Rosh Hashanah

When you enter my city of Betar Illit, Israel, you will see a giant pomegranate.  It's a symbol that we should have as many blessings as there are seeds in a pomegranate.  At this time of Rosh Hashanah, this is the wish for everyone of the world that we should all be blessed with good health, long life, love of family and friends and to continue to receive all that we need.  And of course, we should make as many beautiful quilts as we desire.

Sara's Latest Mug Rug

Sara has made another wonderful Mug Rug.  It's another great way of using up scraps and fun to look at.

Sad News

We are sorry to say that Renee's Mother passed away today.  She reached the wonderful age of 100 just a few months ago.  This is a terrible loss for everyone that knew her and she will be missed by everyone.

Sara has just finished an adorable bag.  What a great way to use up leftover pieces.

She also made this wonderful sewing accessory.  It will hold all the little things that we like to keep handy.

Thank You

Some fabric and patterns were donated to us last year.   They were left with Susan's daughter in Houston, Texas.  Susan just returned from a visit to the States so she was able to bring the items to Israel.  Here are pictures of just a few that were donated.  I don't have a name of the person that left these wonderful items for us to use but I certainly want to send a big thank you and hope that this person will see this message.  Your kindness is really appreciated.

 

But-Rutz has saved us some scraps which we love.  Thank you so much, also.

We Do More Than Just Quilt

Some of us have been taking an exercise class using Nortic Sticks.   It's fun, and a great way to get moving.  We all have to take a break from our sewing machines once in awhile.  Dr Tova is a terrific instructor and we appreciate her coming from Jerusalem to our ladies group here in Betar Illit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rina's Latest

Rina has been working on a kit from Keepsake Quilting.

And now the top is finished.  WOW, this is beautiful.

Stitch In The Ditch?

You can't say Quilters don't have a sense of humor.

Rina's Minky Quilt

Rina has finished her Minky quilt.   She said the fabric was difficult to work with and she may not do it again.  I think she still has more of the fabric but won't buy it again.  The quilt really turned out cute and so, so soft.

Job Opening

Bud-rutz had a position open for an experienced sewing machine operator that can sew curtains and drapes.  It's a pleasant environment and a great opportunity if you live in the Jerusalem area.

My Little Fox

I don't have a little cat or dog hanging out in the sewing room with me, like many of you.  But my little foxy says I better get moving on these quilt tops.  Too many UFO's are stacking up.  What about you?

A Little Quilt Project

Susan has been working on this little quilt and it looks like the hand quilting is almost finished.  These little mini quilts are adorable and quick to make.

A Comfort Quilt

Another comfort quilt is finished and ready to go.  We are so happy to bring joy to so many others.  Once again Bonnie Hunter's (from Quiltville) idea of  Leaders and Enders has helped us produce another quilt in record time.  The back and binding is solid pink for this young girl.

Susan's Latest Quilt

Susan has just finished another sweet quilt.  This one was made from fabric that was taken from little girls dresses.  So sweet and so simple.  It's an adorable quilt.

New Comfort Quilt

I've just finished another comfort quilt for the Hartman family.   We still have a few more to make for this family.   I should be able to show you another one tomorrow.

Another comfort quilt has been completed and delivered.  This one included some Holly Hobby fabrics.

Miriam's Kaleidoscope Quilt

Renee's friend Miriam, has just finished her kaleidoscope quilt that was started a few months ago.  Don't ask about mine!  She did a fabulous job and everyone likes it.

 

Mug Rug

Life has been extremely busy for me these past 3 weeks.   I'm hoping to catch up a little now on what the ladies have been making.

This is Bracha's new mug rug.   The flower fabric was given to her by me because I think it's one of my ugliest fabrics.   I didn't know what to do with it.   But look how cute it looks here.  Amazing!
