Learning About Sewing Machines

This week we spent some time learning more about our sewing machines.  Not all feet look alike. Not all walking feet go on the same way. It's good to spend some time and really learn about our machines.

Sara's latest baby quilt is almost finished. It's an X and Heart pattern. The X's didn't seem to stand out enough so Sara is using Ric Rac to make the X more visible.

Since my husband passed away this month I find it's hard to cook for just one. So I have been trying some ready to eat meals. Talk about disappointment. This is what the package looked like on the outside and this is what it looked like inside. Little brown balls. Does that remind you of anything? I did try a few and it tasted as bad as it looks.

Unfinished Quilt Top

I started this quilt top a very long time ago.  It's hand pieced and it's time to at least get the top finished. I don't want to cut off any of the stars so I'm making sure there is enough white around each. I think I will add another white boarder. What do you think?

A Very, Very Busy Day

The ladies accomplished a lot yesterday. Just wait and see.

Bryna started a comfort quilt. She is still deciding on the borders.

 Bryna put this top together with 9 patch squares that I made. Now it has been sandwiched and is ready for quilting. This will be another comfort quilt.

 Sara sandwiched this darling flannel baby quilt. It's too, too cute.

Avigail finished her borders.

The ladies helped to sandwich Bryna's Hunters Star quilt. As I said it was a very busy day.

Bryna took a bunch of my scrappy 9 patch squares and put this top together. Now she is looking for the right backing for it. By the way, why does every 9 patch block come out to a different size?

Paint By Numbers

Renee loves to try different things and this is one of her latest.  It's a paint by number picture and it turned out very, very nice.

So Very Special

Sara started this little book many years ago and hasn't finished it.  It's so, so cute that you wouldn't like to give it to a little child that would through all the tiny pieces around.  So maybe that's why it hasn't been finished.  We would like to encourage her to finished it. It's Finished

I liked the way this turned out. This is something my hubby always did for me.  Help me to take pictures of our quilts.  I'll have to get better doing this now.

It's a happy day today for Israel.  Our capital, Jerusalem, now has the USA embassy here. All countries have embassies from other lands in their capital. We have always been treated differently.

A Trip To BudRutz

 Our gals went to Bud Rutz this week.  It's fully stocked with quilting fabric.  What a fun place to visit.
