The Ladies Have Been Busy

The ladies have been working on several projects and I love their work.
Sara is working on this little mini quilt.
Renee's latest rag quilt is almost finished.
And these are Susan's latest finished quilts.
The quilting on the back really shows up nicely.

Donation Quilts

Bracha has donated this adorable pink doll quilt to our Comfort quilt collection.
Also, Susan has donated these two vintage quilt tops that she made. All we have to do is put them together, quilt them , and they will be ready to go.

Shifra started a new baby quilt.

Shifra made too many squares.  There are enough extra squares to make another comfort quilt.  I thank all the ladies for helping out.  Quilters are the best.

Another Quilt Panel

Some of these quilt panels really come in handy when you want to make a quick comfort quilt.  This one was really easy, peasy.   I only had to put on the binding.

Another Comfort Quilt

I'm happy to say another comfort quilt is finished.  It went to a baby that just came home from the hospital.  It's soft and cuddly and just the thing for him to feel secure.

A Quilt For A Bat Mitzvah Girl

Rina has been busy getting this special quilt finished for a girl having her Bat Mitzvah. It's really cute and if I would have to name it, I would say Sunshine.
Here you can see Sara checking it over.

Here is a closer look at the squares that have been personalized.

Ladies Day Out

Recently several of the ladies went to Jerusalem for the day.  We had a great lunch, rode the new train in the center of town and visited two museums.

The first museum was the Psalms (Tehillim) museum off of Cook Street.
There are 150 Psalms and the painter Moshe Tzvi HaLevi Berger, painted a picture that represented each one.  This was a massive accomplishment.  I purchased a book that showed a few of the paintings and a detail discription of each.  This is a must see for everyone.

Next we went to the Ticho House.  This is both a restaurant and a museum with a beautiful garden.

If you like antiques, you will enjoy inside.

Book Review

I was asked a long time ago to review "Build Your Best Log Cabin" which was sent to me by e-mail.  With so many things to do, it has taken me a long time to get to this book, but now I'm happy I did.  It a terrific book and I'm very excited about it.
There have been several bloggers out there that have also reviewed this book.
The cover shows 3 styles of Log Cabin.  It covers Traditional, Courthouse Steps and Chevron. The pictures, instructions and charts are clear and easy to follow.  There were a few errors which have been corrected so I know everything is correct.
Quilters like Ricky Tims, Shon Mcmain, Lori Christianson, Marti Michell, and Liz Porter are presented.  It was like meeting up with old friends.  There are also great tips included.  I'm thankful to Eric Woolf from "Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting" for giving me the opportunity to review this free book.  I hope to make all the quilts shown so I have lots of work ahead of me.

Hubby"s Quilt

First, I would like to thank everyone that has replied to my call for help.  The people that live near by have donated clothing, financial assistance and even some orphaned blocks.  It is so much appreciated.
I have finally finished my husbands quilt.  He waited so long for his special quilt while everyone was pushed ahead of him.  It's on his bed and he sleeps with it every evening.  He likes people to see it when they come here, so to me this means he really likes it.

Help

This has been a difficult week.  Bryna's daughter "Hannah" had a horrible fire in their apartment and has lost everything.  Thank G-D, no one was injured.  They have 13 children and no insurance to cover their loss.  I'm asking if anyone has quilts, quilt tops or orphan blocks that they can donate, it would be more than appreciated.  Our group will try to get quilts to them as soon as possible. You can send your donations to me and I will be sure that they will receive it.

New Baby Quilt

Sara has finished another adorable baby quilt.  These are all flannels and the colors and patterns go so well together.  Great work Sara.  I like the quilting too.
