Final Comfort Quilt

This is the third comfort quilt made for one family.  It goes to a boy 4, a girl 2 and a baby girl of 1.  Their mother was killed this past fall in a rocket attack.  This final quilt was made completely by our newest quilter, Yehudit.  She has never made a quilt before and she did this on her own.  She did a fantastic job.

 

This is the back.  Yehudit had two extra blocks and decided to put them on the back. That was a great idea.  All the squares are made by Bonnie Hunters method of Leaders and Enders.

 

All 3 quilts were delivered Friday morning and the children were very excited and seemed to be happy to have new quilts made just for them.

 

Boys Comfort Quilt

We've been making progress on our comfort quilts.  These pictures were taken of a quilt going to a young man that is in a coma.  The first is of me trying out the layout.

 

 

 

New From Sara

Sara has a new magazine.  I always enjoy seeing. that latest quilt creations.

And she has some new fabrics.  This one may be another Yellow Brick Road and it will really have yellow in it this time.

 

Susan's Show and Tell

Just recently Susan brought this lovely quilt that she was working on for us to see.  Most of her quilts are hand quilted and so beautiful.

Minkey Quilt

Sara brought back the softest fabric I have every felt.  I just love, love, love it and who wouldn't?  It's going to be a baby quilt and I wouldn't mind being that baby.

Rina's New Quilt

Rina has started a new quilt.  It didn't start out the way it was planned so she has adjusted the pattern and is coming up with something very unique.  We will just have to wait for further progress on this one.  The fabrics are beautiful.

Sara Is Back From Texas

Sara went to the first Modern Quilt show in Austin.  She had a great time and came home with some goodies. There have been so pictures on blogs already that I'm not going to show any quilts here.  I would love to go next time.  I love the modern quilts.

Sara did bring this home and she'll let you know if it helps. It's supposed to keep rulers from slipping.

New Comfort Quilt

We've completed our second of three quilts that are going to the same family.  The best thing is the fabrics were all donated to us and are scraps that were made by Bonnie Hunter's method of Leaders and Enders.

Purim

Purim is always fun.  We send food to the poor and gifts to our friends.  Here are just a few pictures that I managed to take.  When the ladies came to sew, each were able to take something home from our gift basket.

A New Grandson

I'm happy to announce that I have a new grandson.  His name is Eliyahu Yisroel.  I once again was able to assist my daughter at his birth, which is such an exciting thing to experience.

Shoshana Is Making Scarves

Shoshana brought in some of her scarves that she has been making.  The yarns are so beautiful that the ladies can't resist buying them.

Mimi's Quilt

Renee is so proud of her daughter Mimi.  Mimi made this lovely little quilt.  It's very pretty.  She did a great job.

Renee's Surprise

Renee's daughter won this lovely Quilt at a Chinese Auction. It was made and donated by a quilter in Beit Shemesh.  Everyone was eager to see it up close and to figure out how it was made.

Wow!!  Renee has finished her kaleidoscope quilt top and it is fantastic.  Renee you did a wonderful job on this quilt. This was your first try with this difficult pattern and all the pieces fit together.  My quilt pieces are still on the design wall and I'm having trouble getting them together.

A New Cook Book

Mazel Tov and Congratulations to Monique.  She has just returned form Paris and had great news.  Her first French cookbook has been published.  Of course it's Kosher. You can get it in French or English.  Monique we are so proud of you!

Hinda's Quilt

Hinda has finished her latest baby quilt.  The top is flannel and so cuddly.

Rina's Circle Quilt

Rina has finished quilting her latest.  She brought it to our group so we can see how she will be hanging it.  Notice the top.  She made three black extensions that will allow the light colored pole to go through. Beautiful quilt Rina!
