Susan brought in this baby quilt that was given to her son in the hospital many years ago. It's a very simple example on making a comfort quilt for kids in the hospital. There is no batting inside and the binding is done by bringing the fabric from the back to the front. This saves a lot of time when you have to finish the quilt quickly. It's also lighter for babies that wouldn't enjoy a heavier quilt. Susan, thanks for sharing.

Pink Baby Quilt
Susan has been working on this pink baby quilt. I always like to see how 1/2 triangles can be used over and over in so many ways. This will be a very cute quilt when it's finished. You can see more on Susan's blog. called "Scrappy Me".

Don't They Make Good Irons Anymore?
My mother was great at sewing. She knew, and all of us should know, that the iron is our best friend. Her irons lasted forever.
My 2 irons don't get hot enough for me anymore. One is peeling of all things. One is badly stained from using water in it. So I went iron shopping and picked up this little travel iron. It will be good if I go to a retreat. So far, so good. It's light and easy to handle.

A Thrift Shop Find
It's rare that I see anything at a thrift shop that I need. But in this case I wasn't going to leave this little quilt behind. My little grandson is already enjoying it and no work for grandma this time.

A Special Touch Me Quilt
First, please do not send me any comments under ANONYMOUS. It usually comes up with SPAM so I no longer will except any comments under this. Thank you.
This is a special hands on only quilt for a special little girl. She is 8 years old and is blind. It's only 29"x29" and it's meant for her to carry around with her. To hold and to feel all the different textures. I found all kinds of things in my sewing room that I thought would be interesting for her.
We delivered this mini quilt to her yesterday and she loved it. It doesn't get better than that for me.

Another Project
I'm working on 3 projects at the same time. This is one of them. I saw it on Facebook and just loved it. So I made up my own sizes.
4" and 2" squares and this is what I'm getting. It will make a cute comfort quilt for a sick child.
