Just Arrived

My latest book by Bonnie Hunter has just arrived and it's packed with great ideas for scrappy quilts.  I'm going to really enjoy this book.

Lots Of Cleaning Going On

While I'm busy cleaning my house for Pesach (Passover) my grandson, Reuven Yosef has been busy cleaning and repairing the little house.  Thanks so much Reuven Yosef.

 

 

Pesach (Passover) Cleaning

With one week to go before Pesach (Passover), there isn't much time for sewing.  I'm finding more dust bunnies than bread crumbs.

A Little Give A Way

It's time for another give a way.  Something old, something new.  Take a peak.

It's Pesach (Passover) time.  A time for cleaning out the house.  That means my sewing room too. I've got to clear out some of the old to make room for the new.

If I get a response, I'll pick a winner next week and get it into the mail ASAP.

When Are Fabric Pieces Too Small?

I have this problem all the time.  I have lots of scraps when making quilts and it's hard to decide on when a piece of fabric is too small to keep.  I'm putting my scraps into Doggie/Cat beds and that's OK with me.  I certainly don't keep pieces smaller than 1 inch.  So now I saw this wonderful guilt on the web.  Someone made this with 1 inch strips which I never keep.  Now I have to rethink what I save.  

My Brothers Quilt

My brother has been in the hospital for several months now.  I finally finished a quilt for him.  Thank G-D he is getting better and  I hope he will enjoy this little quilt.  It's a new pattern that I saw on Missouri Star Quilt Co, called Double Slice Layer Cake.

Quilting, Israeli Style

A Duvet Cover

Rina turned her latest quilt into a duvet cover with a little help from Sara.  Sara has made these often and shared some advise with Rina.  The zipper seems to be the most difficult part, but it is worth the effort.  Rina made this for one of her granddaughters.   She now has 2 more to go.

Election Day

Everyone is allowed to vote here, even  if they want to kill you.

Today is election day in Israel.  I'm as confused as you.

Rina's Baby Quilt

Rina needed a baby gift real quilt, so this is what she came up with.  It will be loved for a long time.

A New Pillow Case

Sara has made a pillow case to match her Mystery Quilt.  What a great idea.

Sara also made a label from the fabric to match.  Too, too cute.

The Binding Is On

Sara has finished the binding on this most beautiful quilt.  She made the top and it was quilted by our dear friend Rebekah Reinheimer.  She is a long arm quilter here in Israel and is fantastic.  You can reach her at

Another Comfort Quilt

We have finished another comfort quilt.  Now it just waiting for the person to take it home.  Once again it's the Yellow Brick Rd pattern.

The ladies brought projects that they have been working on so we can get a closer look.

Renee is still working on this long time project.  Counted X stitch is a lot of work.

 

Susan finished this.  The quilting on the borders was done by machine and it now is finished.  Susan usually does hand quilting.

Quilts That I Like

If you are like me, you will see pictures of quilts on the internet that you like and may even make someday.  These have no patterns, but I'd like to maybe not make the same quilt, but make something similar.  Do you keep a picture of quilts you like also?
