Rina's Tablecloth

Rina has started a tablecloth for her dining room and it's going to be fantastic.  The colors go well with her living room and dining room combination.  She showed us the fabric that she is using, some of the strips that she has made and Rina did some of the cutting while she was with us.

Progress Report

We should never be too sure of oneself.  After doing 2/3's of this quilt I see a mistake.  One the top left hand corner there is a four patch turned the wrong way.  Can you see it?  Whoops!  I'll have to fix that.

`Quilt For My Hubby

This project has been on hold for a long time now.  My hubby picked out fabric from my stash that I really wasn't happy with.  It turned out that I also didn't have enough to complete the quilt.  So, I bought new fabric and have started again.  Here is a little of what I have accomplished so far.  My hubby does like it too.
I am using white, medium blue and a darker blue with white inside.

Renee's Baby Quilts

Renee has so many baby quilts to make.  She has been using some of the most darling panels.  Here she is quilting one during our shiur (Bible Study).
And here is a new panel that she just received.  I think she will work on this one next.

Bracha made this square using a new method seen on a video.  It starts by making strips and sewing the strips into a tube, then cutting them.  What a great idea.  Bracha was the first to try it out and I hope to use this method also.  Quilters have such great ideas.

UFO's

I have UFO's like everyone else.  So, this week I started to put on another row to this star quilt.  It's almost half-way there; it is a shame to let it sit.  It has been calling to me for more attention.  There is always so much to do and so little time.

Rina's New Backing

Rina has finished the backing for her latest pink quilt.  It's all pinned and ready for quilting.  She came up with an unusual design and it's really neat.  It shows lots of imagination.  Great work Rina.

Shopping With My Granddaughter.

I've been blessed with many grandchildren.  Each age is remarkable to me.  Now my oldest granddaughter will be 14years old next month.  So like all teenagers, she likes to go shopping.  Last week we took the bus,

then the light rail train to the center of Jerusalem.

Along the way we stopped to see two jugglers entertaining the shoppers in the area.

It was a successful trip.  We bought what we came for-shoes!!!  One can't have enough shoes.  We went home when our feet started to hurt.  It was a fun visit to Jerusalem for the both of us.

On The Design Wall

I've started another Comfort Quilt.   This is for a 5 year girl that is receiving chemo treatments.  Thanks to Bryna for donating 4 fat quarters with the Holly Hobby theme.  I thought it would be too small so I added more fabric from my stash.  I hope to add another border tomorrow.  It's unusual to have so much blue and green fabric for a girl but I think it will work.  I'm just so used to pink and purple for girls.  I have to start thinking out of the box when it comes to color.

Pinwheel Quilt

Susan brought in her adorable Pinwheel quilt for us to see.  She did the quilting by hand and everyone enjoyed seeing it up close.  Pictures never seem to do a quilt justice.  It's always best to see the real thing.
Susan also donated this cute little panel for our Comfort quilt project.  It would make a great pillow or center for a small quilt.

Another Comfort Quilt Finished

I'm happy to say another Comfort quilt is finished and delivered.  This time it was given to a little boy in Betar that is having chemo treatments.  He is only 2 1/2 years old.  The Mom said that she was as happy to receive this gift of love as much as her son.  What a joy to hear this from a stranger.
A very big thank you to Stephanie from My Imperfect Life.
Most of the fabric used on the top was donated by her.
Thanks to Budrutz for the donation of batting.

Thanks also to Sara's daughter Pam.  She donated the flannel back with the airplanes.
And a very big thank you to Bryna.  She does all the leg work for me.  She finds the individual that we give our quilts to and makes all the arrangements.  I couldn't do it without her help.
The top is a Log Cabin variation with a four patch in the middle.  The wide strips are a light blue.  Sorry the picture doesn't show up blue.

Progress Report

Rina and Sara where deciding how to arrange their blocks this week.  Rina is doing the Yellow Brick Road pattern in pastel pinks and green.  The fabrics are so lovely.
Sara is making her first Bento Box quilt.  It's going to be exciting.  I can't wait to see them both finished and quilted.

New Projects

Sara and Rina are working on new quilts.  Here are some of the fabrics that they were working with.  We will just have to wait to see what's coming up.   I can't wait.   I'm sure they will be wonderful quilts.

And this is what I bought today at Budrutz for me.  I have quilts to make too.
